Daniel Dawson Wins the Testa Rossa Award

24 November 2023

We are thrilled to announce that Daniel Dawson has been awarded as the world’s best technician, for the 2nd consecutive year at the 2023 Ferrari Testa Rossa Awards.

The world finals were held in Maranello, the home of Ferrari, earlier this year. Daniel and David Hannam were among the 12 selected regional candidates, that were invited to compete in the centralised global event, to come out on top in each category.

Daniel has worked with JCT600 Leeds Ferrari for over 18 years, joining when he was just 17 as an apprentice. Dedication and focus allowed Daniel to qualify from the apprenticeship programme, and he has since been able to flourish into the Master Technician he is today. At 35 years old, Daniel has been with JCT600 for most of his working life, and “hasn’t looked back since”.

In a world where precision and expertise matter most, Daniel continues to raise the bar. This well-deserved second win solidifies his status as a true trailblazer in the industry. The award is given to recognise pushing boundaries, solving challenges, and proving that excellence is not just a goal, but a habit, for Daniel, David and the team here at Leeds.

For 2023, our Aftersales Manager, David Hannam, was also one of the final 12 shortlisted, and narrowly missed out on the podium. This is an incredibly proud moment for JCT600 to have two members of the team shortlisted as representation for Ferrari North Europe.

Prior to the Ferrari Testa Rossa Awards rebrand, the event was known as the Ferrari Technician Challenge. Daniel was a finalist in 2013 but didn’t make the podium. Daniel’s unwavering determination has now seen him achieve this title, not once, but twice.

The glory of hard work being rewarded and of effort being recognised is one of the best feelings, and it’s something the team at Leeds are familiar with. Whilst the champagne spraying podiums may be reserved for the famed drivers, JCT600 are extremely proud of this amazing achievement. The Leeds team endeavour to continue to champion the Prancing Horse in 2024.

In the words of Enzo, those with “passion, wisdom and perseverance, are the engine of the word”.
