Heading to Abu Dhabi to Chase the Ultimate Goal

05 December 2024

Scuderia Ferrari HP arrives in Abu Dhabi with a singular mission: to secure the Constructors' World Championship title for an unprecedented 17th time. This season stands out as the team's most successful since the hybrid era began in 2014. The United Arab Emirates has often set the stage for high-stakes showdowns, including the 2010 finale, when Ferrari was in contention for the Driver's crown—though that day ended in heartbreak.

The statistics at Yas Marina Circuit haven't favored Ferrari, with the team yet to claim a victory in 15 attempts—the most starts at any venue without a win. However, hope remains that the 16th attempt will break the streak, even as overcoming the 21-point gap to McLaren poses a formidable challenge.

Drivers

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix holds special meaning for two Scuderia Ferrari HP drivers. For Carlos Sainz, it marks his final race with the team before joining Williams. Sainz will aim to close his four-season chapter in style, having achieved four wins, six pole positions, and 24 podiums with Ferrari. His next chapter begins just days later, as he takes the wheel for Williams in Tuesday’s end-of-season test.

The second driver stepping into the spotlight is Arthur Leclerc, the 24-year-old brother of Charles Leclerc. Arthur will drive Sainz's car in the first free practice session, making history as the first time two brothers have competed on track for the same Formula 1 team. Arthur will also participate in Tuesday’s post-season test, sharing driving duties with Antonio Fuoco, while Charles will pilot the second car.
